David Gandler is CEO and Co-founder of fuboTV, a fast-growing streaming TV service that is transforming how people watch live sports and entertainment. He has overseen the evolution of fuboTV which launched in 2015 as a niche streaming soccer site, and today is a leading, sports-first virtual MVPD that is competing head-to-head with OTT services developed by the biggest media and technology companies on the planet.
David and his team have raised more than $150 million to date, including a $75 million Series D round that closed in April 2018 and included 21st Century Fox, AMC Networks, Luminari Capital, Northzone, Sky and the former Scripps Networks Interactive (recently acquired by Discovery, Inc.).
Under his leadership, fuboTV has also secured a number of distribution agreements with leading programmers and content owners, including rights holders to the most popular sports teams, leagues and tournaments in the world. Recent additions include CBS Corporation, Fox Networks Group and NBCUniversal – including carriage of Comcast/NBC and Fox-owned Regional Sports Networks – MSG Networks, NBA TV, NESN, NFL Networks, Pac-12 Networks, Sports Illustrated TV, Stadium, Univision Communications, Inc. and more.
Additionally, he has grown fuboTV’s entertainment, news and information offering to bring viewers the most popular entertainment and news programming on television. This includes deals with AMC Networks, A+E Networks, Cheddar, Crown Media Family Networks, Fuse Media, Game Show Network
(GSN), INSP, PeopleTV, REVOLT, Scripps Networks Interactive, Sony Movie Channel and XITE.
He has also led the drive to launch more than 300 local stations to date, that are owned and operated stations or affiliated with the top broadcast networks, and based in most of the country’s top markets.
David was recognized as a leading exec to watch in Variety’s 2018 Entertainment Digital Impact Report and named to the 2017 B&C and Multichannel News Power 100. He has been often quoted in major publications as well as participated as a speaker in leading industry conferences including the BTIG Media Disruptors Conference, the UBS Global Media and Communications Summit, the Needham Emerging Technology Conference, Cablefax TV Innovation Summit and more.
Prior to founding fuboTV, David served as VP of monetization for DramaFever, acquired by WB. He also has more than 10 years of video sales and marketing experience in local broadcast and cable TV within both the general and Hispanic market, including at Scripps Networks Interactive, Time Warner Cable Media Sales and NBCUniversal’s Telemundo Media. He graduated from Boston University with a B.A. in Economics.
