Biography

Kathy Baker is a seasoned marketing executive with over 13 years experience in digital media, entertainment, and emerging technologies. In her current position as Vice President of Digital Media and Marketing at Columbia Records she is responsible for the direction of digital products, from concept to execution, in support of Columbia’s business goals and strategic marketing. She leads a team of digital marketers in the conception and implementation of digital marketing campaigns for a roster of artists including Adele, Beyoncé, One Direction, John Legend, and J. Cole.

Kathy began working for Sony Music Entertainment in February 2001 as Project Manager and Web Consultant for Columbia Records. In October 2004, first as Director, Digital Marketing and Production for Sony Urban Music, Kathy led the department in the creation and execution of online marketing campaigns for the Columbia Records and Epic Records urban music rosters including John Legend, Prince, Beyoncé, Nas, Lyfe Jennings, Jill Scott and others. Upped to Senior Director, Digital Marketing, Sony Urban Music in March 2006, she became Senior Director, Digital Marketing, Columbia Records in late 2006.

Kathy entered the music industry in February 2000 as an Executive Producer and Production Manager of an internet start-up, AKA.com, The Music Network. Prior, she worked as a Project Manager for Johnson & Johnson from February 1997 through January 2000.
