Sam Toles is Head of Global Content Acquisitions and Distribution of Vimeo. In this role, he leads the Content, Audience Development and Operations teams for Vimeo’s On Demand business.
In 2014, Sam joined Vimeo to lead Content Acquisitions for Vimeo On Demand, which now stands as the largest open-access VOD platform worldwide with over 27,000 titles from more than 8,000 sellers. Programming highlights under Sam’s leadership, include the launch of Vimeo’s first original program “High Maintenance” and several exclusive new series including “Oscar’s Hotel” and “Con Man.”
A 19-year veteran of the entertainment industry, Sam’s career began in theatrical marketing with New Line Cinema and Warner Brothers, followed by home entertainment marketing roles at Paramount Pictures and Rhino. Sam then joined FremantleMedia as Vice President of Business Development overseeing media licensing for their extensive stable of brands including American Idol, America’s Got Talent and The Price Is Right. Prior to joining Vimeo, Toles was Vice President of Content Strategy for Gaiam, building the content foundation and strategy for the company’s a widely distributed SVOD service, GaiamTV.
